At the end of the Gigerwald reservoir above Vättis/SG hides a jewel of a Walser village, Sankt Martin (1340 m above sea level). This is the starting point for hikes into the austere and beautiful Calfeisen Valley in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona.
