Vom See zum Berg is a unique hiking experience that lets you experience Switzerland’s breathtaking natural beauty up close. This nationwide series of events connects the country’s most beautiful lakes with impressive mountain peaks, making nature the real highlight. The idea is quite simple: a group hike from the lake up to a mountain – with no time pressure or competition.
This year, the route from Lake Walen up to the Maschgenkamm is also one of the series’ special highlights. On the roughly 30.6 kilometre route with 2,336 metres of elevation gain, participants can look forward to an impressive hiking challenge through a diverse mountain landscape. Once you reach the Maschgenkamm, a panoramic view in a class of its own opens up: on one side, the view sweeps across the vast landscapes of the Spitzmeilen area; on the other, the rugged peaks of the Churfirsten and Alvier ranges, towering high above Lake Walen, are truly impressive.
In addition to the spectacular views, everything is taken care of along the route: participants receive a unique gift, refreshments en route are included, and the descent by mountain railway is also part of the package.
