At the traditional alpine cheese market on Flumserberg, the alps offer their cheeses for tasting and sale at lovingly decorated stands. Visitors can experience the craft of cheese-making in the traditional cheese dairy.
One highlight is the cow race, unique in Switzerland, in which female jockeys compete for the crown of the Cow Grand Prix. For younger guests, there is a mini cow race on bouncy cows with small prizes.
As part of the Alpine Cheese Market, the cheese loaves of the Flumserberg Alpine Ducks will be presented at the "Sennästube", as they are every year. From 10.00 the alpine cheese will be offered for tasting and sale. Also on site are various market stalls with other regional products and handicrafts.
Between 10.00 . and 16.00, marvel at the skills of Kevin Bless in chainsaw carving, and at 11.30 experience the quaintness of traditional cheese-making in an entertaining and exciting way. The traditional cheese maker will show you how cheese was made in Heidi's day and will also be happy to answer any questions.
For the little guests there is a mini clock race on bouncing cows and many other attractions.
Mild, tangy, fiery: cheese for every taste
Visitors will be informed about the Alps at the beautifully decorated stalls and can taste and buy Alpine cheeses to their heart's content. From mild varieties to special versions with chilli or wild garlic, there is something for every cheese taste. A large playground also awaits the younger guests.
