How we protect ourselves

The Federal Council has adopted measures to combat COVID-19 – these include legal requirements, such as bans as well as rules of hygiene and conduct. This is in the interest of public safety and to further curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The Flumserberg cable cars and lifts will commence with daily summer operations until Sunday, 18 October.

Measures are being taken to protect staff and guests on Flumserberg. Below you will find some information about the situation on Flumserberg.

Measures for protecting our guests and employees

Bergbahnen Flumserberg is assuming the financial risk of any officially ordered closure of the entire cable car and lift operation due to a pandemic or epidemic in winter 2020/2021 as well as in summer 2021.

  • observing the federal government's requirements and safety concept in line with the public transport guidelines
  • the safety concept depends on guests and employees at Flumserberg taking personal responsibility and being respectful of others
  • ensuring a safe distance between the groups of guests
  • dividing the waiting area in front of the cable cars and lifts into 1.5 m segments with floor markings
  • giving clear directions to guests as they board and exit
  • Bergbahnen Flumserberg informs guests of applicable hygiene and safety measures
  • the staff has been trained in the handling of protective materials
  • the employees are provided with protective materials
  • surfaces and objects are cleaned regularly and appropriately after use, especially if they are touched by several people
  • in cabins of touristic transport - SeeJet, BergJet and Prodalp-Express - a protective mask is required. This does not apply for children under the age of 12 and people, who are unable to wear a protective mask because of medical reasons. You can purchase a protective mask for CHF 1.- at the ticket office.

  • the restaurants inform guests of applicable hygiene and safety measures
  • staff has been trained in the handling of protective materials and is provided with such materials
  • surfaces and objects are cleaned regularly and appropriately after use, especially if they are touched by several people
  • observing the requirements of the federal government and the Seilpark Schweiz safety concept for the climbing tower
  • employees and guests are required to wear protective gloves on the CLiiMBER climbing tower. They may bring their own gloves or purchase them on site
  • ensuring a safe distance between groups of guests

  • the staff has been trained in the handling of protective materials
  • the employees are provided with protective materials
  • safety equipment, which is disinfected, dried and aired out after each use

  • dividing the waiting area in front of the cable cars and lifts into 1.5 m segments with floor markings

  • the staff has been trained in the handling of protective materials
  • handles and seatbelt buckles in the vehicles are regularly cleaned and disinfected
  • vehicle seat and backrest surfaces are cleaned and disinfected daily
  • a curtain between guests and employees is provided to protect all parties during belt checks
  • observing the requirements of the federal government and the safety concept for the sports shop (Asmas)
  • the shops ensure that the safe distance can be maintained
  • the shops provide protective materials for customers and staff
  • staff has been trained in the handling of protective materials and is provided with such materials
  • surfaces and objects are cleaned regularly and appropriately, especially if they are touched by several people
