Avalanche Training Center Flumserberg

The trend of freeriding has raised in past years. Freeriders, backcountry skiers or snowshoe travelers prefer riding off the slopes. Avalanche rescue gear consisting of snow shovel, probe and transmitter is essential.  Freeriders definitively need avalanche rescue gear consisting of snow shovel, avalanche probe and avalanche transmitter.

Time can decide

After an avanlanche accident, help must be provided rapidly and without knowing the correct use of equipment, this is not possible. Courses can be taken at Flumserberg to learn or train the use of avalanche gear.

Mulitple possibilites

The training centre consists six buried avalanche transmitters which can be located with any RECCO-System. The transmitters are activated from a control via RF signal by random generator. So, even course instructors do not know about the location of the buried person.

Beside accidents with only one accident victim, the training centre allows the simulation of an avalanche accident with multiple buryings.

The avalanche training centre is free of charge and open daily.
