South west of Gräpplang stands the tiny Chapel of St Jakob. The chapel is a plain, inconspicuous building, modest both inside and out. But the altar is framed round about with Gothic frescos. Famous is the window in the Romanesque arch depicting the Madonna of Flums, the oldest stained glass painting in Switzerland (12th c.).
A copy is in the chapel itself, the original having been transferred to the "Zürich Landesmuseum" (National Museum) in 1889. Together with the St. Justus Reliquary it is one of the greatest treasures of the National Museum.
The St. Jakob Chapel and the St. Justus Church are two of the oldest buildings in the region.
