On 8th May 2004, in the largest chestnut forest in northern Switzerland, in Murg, a new thematic path about chestnut trees has been inaugurated.
The 2.5 km long path leads from the village in the direction of Murg valley, through old chestnut forests, past the freshly planted seedlings, along the young plantation of chestnut trees to the production of chestnut timbers and back to the starting off point. If the altitude difference of 190m is too much, then choose the shorter round trip of 1.5 km and 90 m. altitude difference. On the way it is worth making a detour into the wild romantic Murgbach gorge as well as to the thundering waterfalls. In both places there are wonderful glacier mills. The path is decorated with a diversity of wooden sculptures.
