Tradition that has withstood the test of time in a magnificent alpine setting
The Alp cheese market on the alpine slope of Tannenboden has already become a tradition. Every year in the middle of October, the cheese wheels from the alpine communities Tannenboden, Wiese, Lauiboden, Wildenberg and Fursch are presented at the Sennästube Restaurant and sold. From 10am the alpine dairymen present their cheese for tasting and for sale from their beautifully decorated sales stands. Offical opening at 11am with the Schällnerclub Flumserberg.

The fastest cow wins
The rustic alpine festival has turned into a real hit with the public, thanks to its unique cow races. From 11am you can bet on the fastet cow at the betting office. At 1pm the Schellenclub Bergfreunde Altstätten have their show. The ornately adorned cows and their riders are presented to the public at 1.30pm with much pomp and ceremony, and then at 2pm people head to the betting office to place bets on their favourites.  The Schällnerclub  Flumserberg announces at 3pm the race and gives the starting signal: ready, set, MOO…!
Entertainment for young and old

From 11am music with the Trio Vontobel-Mock-Hohl. For the kids there is a bouncy castle, chilren's zoo and a children playground. From 10am to 4pm you can watch over Stefan Hofer's shoulder, how he carves wood with the motor saw.

The Tourist Office Flumserberg is closed on this day, but we give you informations at the cheese market.
