Across through Heidland on the WALSA Rideway from Bad Ragaz to Flumserberg and Weesen/Näfels.

The whole route from Bad Ragaz to Nafels is about 58km in length, with a total ascent of 1920m and 1984m descent; it can be covered in ca. 17 hours(i.e. a 3-day tour).Of course one can also do a single day's tour, or stage by stage with interruptions. The Ridgeway is ensured with app. 75 sign-post locations and many rhombuses. The well marked paths are completely safe for walking, nevertheless good hiking shoes are recommended as well as rainproof clothing and the hiking map of the holiday region Heidiland. The detailed free prospectus "Walsa way" can also be ordered here and now.

The WALSA-Ridgeway has nothing to do with the 'Walser' (immigrants from the Valais in the late Middle Ages) but is an abbreviation signifying the home region of the Walsa way "Lake WALen- SArgansland". It runs diagonally across the holiday region Heidiland and thus through one of the most beautiful landscapes of Eastern Switzerland.

Enjoy the magnificent prospect that is your constant companion along the way: the panoramic view of the Rhine valley below and of the remarkable Gonzen, at a glance take in the whole stretch of the deep lying Seez valley with the Alvier mountain chain, look 'eye to eye' at the proud Churfirsten mountains, rising starkly out of Lake Walen; enjoy, above all, the wonderful peace up here, high above the hectic life of the valley lands.
